Your privacy and security
Your user name will be your sign-in identity, and is displayed on contributions you post.
The site does not allow the same name combination to be used for more than one user.
We do not display your sign-in email on this site, unless you put it into your own posting (we
advise against this).
We do not pass your sign-in email on to third parties. But:
- the moderators may contact you concerning your posts;
- the moderators will inform you of people making enquiries about your
event postings. We will always act as the mediator for first contact in these cases, without
revealing your email to the enquirer, and the enquirer must provide their
point of contact. It's then up to you to decide whether to respond.
Your password is stored heavily encrypted. No-one can read it back; if you forget it,
use the Forgotten password? facility. We use a business service
provider with a high reputation for data security, but it's impossible
to say that the data we hold about you can never be hacked: since we don't deal with any
financial transactions on this site, the immediate impact will be minimal. But we'd
always strongly recommend that you do not use the same password as
on any other site.
We store cookies on your device only for the following purposes:
-
to keep track of navigation history such as whether you have logged in;
- to keep a permanent note that you have agreed to our policies by clicking
the button above or the one below.
When you've completed the registration, you will need to have it approved by a moderator
before you can start contributing. This will normally happen within a day.
The moderators reserve the right to blacklist any contributor for illegal material, or what
they deem to be obscene, offensive, illegal or threatening posts. When you make a post it will not
appear on the web site until a moderator has approved it for publication.
